What Flies Our Kite - 2025 Highlights
Birthdays, Book Club and Bertie's Blanket
As the year draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on the moments that have made 2025 such a special one for Kite. It’s been a year filled with celebration, community and meaningful milestones - all made possible thanks to you. Here are some of the highlights that truly flew our Kite this year.
An Award Win to Start the Year!
One of our proudest moments came when we were named Best Children’s Business in Dorset and Somerset at the 2025 Muddy Stilettos Awards.
The recognition means the world to us. It reflects the passion of our whole team and, most of all, the support of our wonderful community who took the time to vote.
15 Years of GOTS Certification
This year marked something very close to our hearts: our 15th consecutive Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification.
For us, GOTS isn’t just a label. It’s a commitment to better choices - for farmers, factory workers, families and the planet. Reaching 15 years feels like a real milestone and a reminder of why we do what we do. Here’s to the next 15.
Storytime: Our First Collection Launch Event
In August, we brought our Autumn Winter 25 Storytime collection to life with our first-ever launch event at the beautiful Cowshed Dorset.
We welcomed families to a magical children’s tea party with storytelling from the brilliant Rachel Bright, then later gathered for a womenswear reception where we also launched the Kite Digital Bookclub. The whole day was full of warmth, creativity and community spirit.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their photos and videos, and to the wonderful local and sustainable brands who helped fill our goody bags.
10,000 Trustpilot Reviews
Another milestone that filled us with pride this year was reaching 10,000 Trustpilot reviews, with a rating of Excellent.
Every review is read and appreciated by our team. Your kind words, feedback and stories help us grow, improve and stay true to the values that matter most to us. Knowing that our products and service make a positive difference to your families means more than we can say. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us.
Launch of the Kite Collective Book Club
October brought another exciting first: our very own book club event.
We were joined by the inspiring Clare Leslie Hall, author of Broken Country, for a fascinating conversation about her writing journey, the inspiration behind the book, her research process, and even who she’d love to see cast in the upcoming film adaptation.
A huge thank you to Clare, the lovely team at Westbourne Bookshop, and everyone who joined us both in person and online. Keep an eye on our socials for news of our next pick in the new year.
Bertie’s Blanket
When we shared the story of Bertie’s Blanket, we had no idea it would reach more than 50k people and spark such an outpouring of kindness. With hundreds of likes, comments and shares, it quickly became one of our most-loved posts of the year.
Best of all, it had the happiest ending. Your compassion reminded us why community sits at the heart of Kite.
Kite's 18th Birthday
In October, we also celebrated a very special birthday - Kite turned 18!
We spent the month looking back at the moments that shaped us: early designs, warehouse moves, organic markets, factory visits and plenty of adventure along the way. Eighteen years of thoughtful design, sustainable choices and a community - it felt like a real coming-of-age moment.
Launching Our Premature Baby Range
On World Prematurity Day, we launched a project very close to our hearts - our new neonatal and premature baby range, developed in collaboration with the incredible team at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Designed with input from nurses and families, every piece is created to meet the needs of babies in neonatal care, from easy-access poppers for medical support to soft organic fabrics in bright, uplifting prints. We hope these garments bring comfort, colour and care to babies and their families.
Looking back, 2025 has been a year shaped by creativity, collaboration and community. We can’t wait to see where 2026 takes us – and we’re so glad to have you with us for the journey.
